What is the SBI Program
at Harrisburg High School?

The School of Business & Industry Honors Prep Program (SBI) is a partnership program between Florida A&M University’s School of Business & Industry and Harrisburg High School.

The goal of the program is to orient potentially high achieving students to the world of business and industry, and to help expose them to and/or enhance their career pathway. Students learn leadership skills as well as business concepts while enhancing and developing skills that are fundamental to their academic success.

How to enroll and
get started in the SBI Program.

SBI is a 4 year accelerated honors program with Introduction to SBI and Professional Development beginning in the 9th grade.

Intro to SBI is a one-year introductory honors business course designed to prepare students for acceptance into the more rigorous SBI program for scholars beginning in 10th grade.

Acceptance into the Introduction to SBI and Professional Development Honors class is contingent upon the following:

  • Student must obtain a “B” average in all 8th grade core classes (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies)
  • Successfully completed a keyboarding class or enrolled in such during 9th grade year
  • Personal statement expressing Why Student Is Interested in SBI
  • Good behavior record
  • Core Teacher and Counselor recommendations
